Town Ranch
It's good to see that Spero has finally produced and sold it's very first pig!

Re: Town Ranch
Yeah, I got me a piggy! I am thinking I should not have sold my corn to the town now, lol. Likely this one won't be living to it's full lifespan, but we'll see how it goes. Oh, and please feel free to really push animal breeding for people having trouble making money. It's been ages since I could buy anything but a chicken.

Re: Town Ranch
I agree about pushing more animals, the chickens seem to be made easily but everything else seems to drag. If it doesn't pick up now that we are not upgrading field cultures atm we'll explore raising the wage for breeding.
Re: Town Ranch
Alright, it looks like this pig experiment is coming to a close. I've bought out the town stocks of corn and only have 5 left....Maybe I'll keep going without corn, but I don't think the pig gets fatter without it.

Re: Town Ranch
Heh, well, there is plopcorn now too and we might have more pig farmers. I'm sure people will be buying it

Pig farming is interesting to explore. THough more for people with more money than me I think. lol

Re: Town Ranch
Each animal has to be bred by the citizens who take the jobs breeding animals. So, if no one takes the jobs breeding animals, no animals are ever made.
Set Animal Prices
Here you can set the selling price for the animals. The money will go straig
Animal | Available | In Production | Currently in use | |
Chickens | 0 | 6 | 20 | |
Cows | 3 | 0 | 9 | |
Horses | 0 | 1 | 2 | |
Pigs | 0 | 2 | 2 | |
Sheeps | 0 | 2 | 2 |

Re: Town Ranch
I've been working on the principle that if you want an animal, you'd better breed it yourself.

Re: Town Ranch
Are there many people who DON'T keep animals? I constantly keep cows and chickens. I never see eggs or milk on the market (or cheese).

Re: Town Ranch
I don't, and I buy eggs and milk when I see them (Which is never recently). Animals take too much stamina from me and I can do without, but I guess I'm not a standard villager.

Re: Town Ranch
Well I also still need to feed them, and I can't be sure about being in Town every day

Re: Town Ranch
Ah right. Typically the feeder hireling isn't available to hire every day, a random chance...

Re: Town Ranch
Is there any way to speed up the breeding process, or do you just have to keep using entire days worth of stamina so that someone can snatch up the animal you were working to breed just as it becomes available?

Hmm, is no way really. You can keep track of the progress bar and as soon as you create one it can be bought.
I am guessing you are trying to get something other than a chicken.
Based on some discussion, I think we'll try to raise the cow/sheep/pig wages a bit to encourage more production; at least for the short term.
I'm sorry its been a problem, it seems as soon as they are made they get sold.
Re: Town Ranch
Aye. I have been wanting a cow for a few days. I got the progress bar to nearly complete, but somebody else topped it off and bought the cow.
I don't understand why breeding would take anywhere near as much stamina as it does. Animals tend to breed naturally. I think the process should automatically progress daily, with spent stamina from the labor hall simply boosting it.

Re: Town Ranch
Well, because the game master can't just add animals for free. (Before you put something in the game, you must take something out, in this case stamina) Maybe the word breeding isn't quite right, ... any idea in re-naming the breeding proces is welcome

Re: Town Ranch
Caretaking? Raising? Pen/Stocks Management?
If we assume that they're all born the old fashion way, can we assume the towns buy young ones from county farms that must be acquired, raised(Fed, brushed, etc), cleaned, and other bits before sold? Or should I start a suggestion forum discussion for this rather than prowling?
