Updated durability of Beds, Blankets, Sleeping Bags & Pillows
Dear Seekers,
We've multiplied the durability of the Beds, Blankets, Sleeping Bags & Pillows by 10. We also increased the durability loss on those items during the Daily Reset by 10.
So, if your cheap Bed lost 1 durability every day before the change, it will lose now 10 durability instead. Seekers who own a Grail Bed will lose 60 points a day instead of 6. Yet, just as before the update both beds will still last for at least 365 days.
We've scaled the durability of those items to add a Sustaining Skill effect.
Now, each point on the Sustaining Skill reduces the daily durability loss by 0.5%.
Seekers with a high Sustaining Skill will be able to use these items for longer, just as with the other items that can be used in the Realm.

Re: Updated durability of Beds, Blankets, Sleeping Bags & Pillows
Dear Seekers,
After the recent durability update of Beds, Blankets, Sleeping Bags and Pillows, few Seekers used the x10 durability gain to their advantage by destroying the items and gaining x10 as much Sustaining Skill experience. To counter this, we altered the way Sustaining Skill experience is gained.
Instead of offering experience based on the durability left, the experience is now based on the original stamina cost to create the item, tool, potion or barrel. The remaining durability of the item returns a % value applied on the original stamina cost (rounded down). So an item with 100% durability will give you the full amount of experience, while an item with only 50% will give only 50% of the experience.

Base amount of experience gained: (base production cost of the item * quality of the item) * (remaining durability / maximum durability * quality of the item) * 0.01

A list with all the available items and their statistics can be found at the help-files: https://thegraillords.net/help.php#28
A few examples to clarify:
+ Normal butcher's knife with 600 durability left:
A Butcher's Knife requires 600 units to produce (based on your Blacksmithing Skill, the amount of stamina required to make the item will vary, this is not relevant). Normal quality means 600 units multiplied by 2, so 1200 units in total. The max durability of Butcher's Knives is 300, so 600 durability / (300 * 2 normal quality) equals 1.
Result: 1,200 (units) * 1 (durability factor) * 0.01 = 12
As with most skills, the amount of experience you gain is influenced by the skill you already have, if your Sustaining Skill is below 20 you'll get 0.12 experience.
+ Grail Bed with with 10,950 durability left:
A Bed requires 1,800 units to produce (based on your Carpentering Skill, the amount of stamina required to make the item will vary, this is not relevant). Grail quality means 1,800 units multiplied by 6, so 10,800 units in total. The max durability of a Bed is 3,650, so 10,950 durability / (3,65000 * 6 normal quality) equals 0.50.
Result 10,800 (units) * 0.5 (durability) * 0.01 = 54
As with most skills, the amount of experience you gain is influenced by the skill you already have, if your Sustaining Skill is below 20 you'll get 0.54 experience.

Re: Updated durability of Beds, Blankets, Sleeping Bags & Pillows
You do however still only gain sustaining xp while breaking the item?
So if I use up 11 months of my grail bed and give it away to a newb, I lose out on sustaining xp for the full durability? and the newb gets sustaining xp for the full dura? Or only for the part of the dura he/she used up?

If you don't break the item, on purpose or by using it, you'll not receive any durability. Whoever has the bed and destroys it, will receive Sustaining Skill based on the remaining durability of the item. It doesn't matter who previously owned the bed or how much they used the bed themselves.

Dear Seekers,
I've updated the minimum experience gained when destroying items based on their quality. This way items with little durability left will not give insanely small amounts of experience.
