Forum rules update.

New addition to the forum rules:

Ingame names

The inclusion of your game is not required. It is an extra feature - (ie the game admin can find your name easier to fix a problem you have ingame.)
Seekers are allowed to have a different forum name then their ingame name.
Seekers can leave the option to fill in their ingame name blank.
Seekers are NOT allowed to use another ingame name then their own. Seekers who abuse the ingame names in any possible way will see their forum account removed.

Why not just have the rule that your forum name be the same as your IG name?

Would love to, just havent found an administrative way to enforce that. Ideas?

How were you planning on making sure they put there actual IG name under there avatar?

As long as we keep this Forumotion forum there is no way to automatically enforce it, it would just be up to the moderators to enforce it.

Right now players are unable to change their forum name. I would suggest temporarily changing that option in the Admin panel so that Seekers can change their own forum name.

Then have Aro make an annoucnement or send out a mass mail informing players of the rule change and giving them a chance to comply.

After everyone has a had a chance to comply then change it back and the moderators would just have to lookout for people breaking the rule, like any other rule. If you find somebody warn them and have an admin change their name for them.

The need for it, really was brought about due the fact of bugs in the game, people would report a bug, then they'd have a different game now. Just so people know why the new rule. Im sure it will come in handy for other things.

A question, when ppl go to register on the registration page they now have a compulsory field where they need to enter in their ingame name, do you think there is a way for the forum user name box and ingame user name box to work like the password boxes do, and if people type something different in either box it will cause an error? Im not sure PHHB does that, maybe you know?

If you issue is that people should be able to keep their IG identity secret from other players I would keep it mandatory to fill it out, but only have it viewable to mods.

Then you would still know who's account it is if they report a bug, or if they were breaking rules.
