Pickpocketing and Agent chances
Dear Seekers,
For developers it is constant struggle to try and find a healthy balance between crime and justice in our Realm. Both the criminals as their victims find the other party has the advantage. To me, it comes that as long both parties are unhappy it is either because the concept is either very bad, or is just working fine. And as we are all positive thinking people, we assume the latter.
Nonetheless we kept data from all the crimes happening in the Realm and decided to adjust the chance to get arrested immediately when trying to pickpocket.
This chance was standard 10% (50% when stealing in the Grail Monastery). Now, this chance increases by another 10% for each reported crime that you -as thief- committed in that town within the past 3 days. Up to a maximum of 90% chance.
We hope in time to remove the Grail Agent completely from the script and replace it by a player based Town Militia that keeps the town safe from theft.
To end some crime statistics:
Total money stolen: 21 Gold, 38 Silver and 28 Bronze.
Average money per theft: 1 Silver and 80 Bronze.
Total amount of crimes so far: 1,183 (136 arrests)
The Grail Monastery: 48 (7 arrests)
Camaar: 164 (26 arrests)
Spero: 323 (35 arrests)
Sarmiz: 356 (30 arrests)
Azetyth: 292 (38 arrests)

Arrests are at a verry low number compared to thievery actions in all cityes. This means that the pickpoketing system is in advantage to thieves.

Interesting statistics!
Now I understand why I only rarely get the chance of throwing my eggs at the jailed Thieves in Camaar.
With respect to agent chances, the poor ratio between thefts and arrests reflects real life reality. Police officers seldom arrest pickpockets.

Are these statistics from all time or from after the last major update to pickpocketing (after the skill was disabled for a time)? Because if they include the days where you could target specific players for a guaranteed loot of 15 silver they give a skewed impression of the current results.Lord Arogandor wrote:To end some crime statistics:

The statistics are from when we started keeping track of crimes, back in 2015.
Below you find the crimes that happened the past 18 months (since the victim got selected randomly).
Total money stolen: 18 Gold, 34 Silver and 27 Bronze.
Average money per theft: 1 Silver and 93 Bronze.
Total amount of crimes so far: 948 (101 arrests)
The Grail Monastery: 45 (6 arrests)
Camaar: 64 (12 arrests)
Spero: 191 (16 arrests)
Sarmiz: 355 (29 arrests)
Azetyth: 293 (38 arrests)

Could you add some more numbers, like:
- how many tries with no money stolen
- how many tries that failed
I would like to calculate some percentages just because I love doing that
