Can't really fault you for playing smart. It was within the rules of the game, so to speak.

Still pisses me off, though. Donated goods worth (this is just an estimation, I don't remember what exactly I gave) probably over 40 silver... Spent far more stamina than even the winning reward of +25 for a month would have compensated for (and it was only enough to take me to the 25th spot, I can't imagine how many stamina potions the top contributors chugged)... only to see that the clear lead meant nothing, ONE thief's last-minute effort was enough to overturn the results.

Once again I'm left wondering if we'll ever have an event where the effect of strong individuals can be properly offset by numbers.

Good thing I at least didn't waste any stamina potions on this. It's bad enough that I wasted all that money and stamina, when even the winning reward could barely begin to compensate for it.

I'm done with this game's town vs. town events. Not once has there been any major benefit to participating, they've always been nothing but huge waste of stamina.

Haha... Oh you'd cringe if you saw my bill...

But yeah I agree, events are a huge waste all around.  Even though this one was close unlike others I think it was worse...  The prize winners basically bought it with real life money, at least with combat events the strongest/well rounded warriors most likely always win.  But all events still create artificial demand for whatever, which I don't like personally, spero essentially builds up money to be thrown at future events.  I had to sacrifice my shot at winning a prize for winning the whole town a prize too Sad

We got really lucky anyway, with the scores as they were, we needed to cancel out at least two of the food quota bonuses to win.  Fish was understandable,  we had a difficult time getting it too...  But giving no buffer on your guys' wheat was a critical mistake.

Limits to how much work can be done daily would be cool, and put younger players with less stamina on a more even playing field... As well as prevent the economy from stagnating for 2 weeks.  Of course the most skilled players would win the prizes, and camaar still wouldn't have a shot at any combat events Razz

There are unique items that could be found during this event. Not to mention popularity/honor. The events are more for fun than anything, in my opinion. We can make money every other week of the year.

Yeah the prizes are quite good, and it is the only real competition between the towns.

But I still think there's too much economic turmoil from them, at least this one.  Just go look at camaars market right now and you'll see what I mean Razz

IMO, the rules weren't clearly enough explained. I have fish (though not too much right now), I have wheat too, I'd have had no problem offering them if somebody had told me there was a benefit to exceeding the quotas.

Events are fun. But I really think they are too long... 1 week for this would be more than enough - we'd have the competition still, but not with this waste size!

Yeah... The amount of field work that piled up during this event will take a while to clear.
