I'm not sure if this is a bug, or if it was simply changed, but I remember getting a little something special on your birthday. I had mine 6 days ago, and I just remembered that nothing happened.

Did they go away?

When your character becomes 1 year old, you indeed receive a present from the game. Your birthday is the day you took up your quest. In your particular case is that on 5th of May.
