Re: Mood not raising?
It really was a nice relaxing moment at the water. You should do this more often!Your mood has been increased!
Said this over and over and over and no change, is quite annoying.

Re: Mood not raising?
mmm Okay, it might be a bug.
I thought it would be fun not to see the exact effects of mood. But maybe I just must make the effects 100% visual?
If this helps my grumpy seekers, I'll show the mood in numbers too. Then for sure you know if its a bug or not. But the bad point is, you can calculate "oh I need to do this & this to get that effect on my mood for today...." I thought It would be nice not to know the effects in numbers.

Aro,
That might be fine after we move past Beta stage, but right now, if we can't see it, we can't tell you if it's working or not.

Re: Mood not raising?
The mood goes down 1% every day rounded up.
So if you have 450, it goes down 4,5points, round up it makes 5points.
if you have 1000 on mood it goes down 10 points.
if you have 50 on mood it goes down 1 point.
To avoid any chance on having negative effects your mood has to be 500 or more.
The closer your mood get to 0 the more chance you have on a negative effect. The closer your mood get to 1000, the more chance you have on a positive effect.

Re: Mood not raising?
Hmm, it might be too much, not sure yet. I fish a lot so my mood seems to be rising more than it's falling but its hard to notice.
With the mood bonus you gave out, it places my mood at 745. That means my mood will drop 8 per day. If it costs 1 corn to make plopcorn which is 5-10 mood increase, that means it would cost 1 corn, or about 75 bronze per day to maintain this 'happy' mood.
I just don't see spending 75 bronze per day for a small chance of a benefit once in awhile being worth it much.
Fishing raises mood by 2, idk what the potions do or what the meals do yet. When I get home I'll cook some 3 piece meals and see what the benefits of that are; but it just seems very costly to maintain.
The average new player makes 50 bronze per day. This will affect them the hardest I think, as they won't be able to afford a decent mood at all.
Just some thoughts on it, I really do like the mood idea though. I know there probably will be some balance passes made before it is done, otherwise I dont think you would have passed out 200 mood to everyone.
Also winning battles should raise mood I think.
Does anyone know what a mood potion raises the mood to? Or the variable? Or 2-3-4 piece meals etc?

Re: Mood not raising?
Being victorious in battle raises your mood is a good idea. It will be added.
Meals give you 1 mood extra for each ingredient after the first. So 4 ingredients give you +3 mood.
Potions give you 20 points every quality level.
Effects still may vary in time.
New Seekers will start with a basic mood of 700 from now on.

Re: Mood not raising?
Ok, I am sure you are monitoring it, and will adjust it if you see everyone's mood become grumpy.
Let me know if you need anymore feedback! From your post, I would think that maybe the meals should give out more mood. But I'm not sure yet myself, as it isn't a cost effective way to maintain mood as well.
Another idea, is town events from town reputation. Personally, I like getting stamina or bronze better than I would mood, but if it was a significant increase it might be considerable.
Also, for now, please keep the mood visual, I would just like to see the basic workings in action.
Thanks for keeping us in the loop Aro!

Still doesn't seem sustainable without bankrupting yourself.
I lose 9 mood per day, I get 1 from voting. If I spend 75 bronze per day making plopcorn I might break even..
It's nice and all, but really too expensive to be worth it.

Re: Mood not raising?
We keep working on it Anto.
I'll will add more factors during the reset that might decrease or increase your mood.
- your hunger status.
- your town reputation.
- your life-points.
- other ideas are welcome.
But the higher your mood, the more you will loose, that will remain that way

Re: Mood not raising?
Interesting. I've been eating 3-ingredient meals everyday. I do think the effect of the first ingredient should be counted as well as I do cook the meal. Come on, its not a cheap loaf of bread I'm eating. Do 1 ingredient meals give mood? I already ate and didn't think about this.
If life points will affect mood, I will NEVER fight monsters again. I can't walk between Spero-Camaar without retreating from some battles. At least 3 wild boars and a couple of bears on average... err... I'll keep my full life points + mood instead of killing a few and escaping the rest (which is what I've done lately).
It shouldn't be too easy to maintain mood but not too hard either. Those who want to maintain a high mood will have to sacrifice a bit for it. I have a mood of about ~800. I get 2 from meals and 2 from voting. So that's maintaining half. If being plump (hunger status) would mean an extra mood (+1) and full life (+1) I'd gain 6/8 mood and still lose 2 which I need to gain through eating corn or fishing (which seems useless skill wise from what Anto wrote elsewhere). Is it balanced? Hmm, I pay a lot to eat the way I do. At the moment I find it alright, I learned some new things here and will try how easy/hard it will be to maintain max mood. One thing I did think about now was that when receiving money randomly, there could be a slight increase in mood as who isn't happy to get some extra cash
(Aro - totally random but WHYYY did I lose like 500 town reputation when I moved from Camaar... that's a insanely big amount and not sure what the point of town rep is??

Re: Mood not raising?
So for those of us who don't leave the towns, work our fields, cook so others have food and maybe even beer excreta are basically just stuck with a crappy mood? Is there a list some where of what we need to do to raise our moods. Mine has been at 500 for a long time and now I am dipping...
Why did I start playing again?
I will just have to be the grumpy chicken lady from now on.

Re: Mood not raising?
It is there to get you to do some things you wouldn't normally do so that you can get the mood up because it does have positive affects on your game experience, because it gives you money and random things like that. So if you don't try and get it up somehow it will never get higher... I dunno, personally I'm not a huge fan of it because if I want to keep it reasonably high it is very costly or makes me stray from my plan for a while... But if beer is coded and becomes reasonable cost and mood it will be helpful.
