Horsies yay! Empty Horsies yay!

Post by anto_capone Sat Dec 26, 2009 12:22 am

Hi all,

I just got a horse, for a very good price (thanks din!)...

Now, do I need to do something to use it for travel? I travel a lot. The training bar seems full,
Horsies yay! Orange

So, what do I do? I training the horse today, I just clicked it and watch 50 stamina vaporize... ( Evil or Very Mad )

But if this can save me a lot of stamina in the long run is definitely worth it! Suspect

Thanks for any helps

Hey Anto,

Baron von Glasenapp also reported this. I will look and fix this bug today!
Once the horse is trained totally, you can 'upgrade' the animal horse into a follower horse. This follower will make it more profitable to travel.

does the horse has a HP of its own,or does the horse add to your own?,and can creatures attack the horse specific?

Horses will have no idividual hitpoints, neither will they increase the hitpoints of their owner.

Horses in battle will give you the option to charge with a lance on your foe and do massive damage.
While mounted, horses also give you extra protection against enemy hits.
However there will be a chance that your horse got hit and killed during battle. The chance that this happen will be rather small and can be further reduced by equiping your horse with some extra protection.

Dear friends of the horse,

I have updated the scripts for the horses. There where a few bugs that have been fixed!
- In the reset, horses don't become older, so a horse never can die from old age.
- A horse never can be trained for longer then 100 times (or 100 days).
- The script for upgrading the horse is fixed also now.

I hope it works fine now, and that I didn't create new bugs! If you experience any problems let me know please Smile

Also please keep in mind that a having a horse now, still have no function! I will solve this 'little' problem very soon. My intention is that a horse will make traveling on the map more easy & that a horse also can help you during battle.
I need some brainstorming how to make it work smooth yet, but i'm sure that it will become fine Wink

well, seems travelling uses a random? amount of stamina each square travelled, perhaps a horse can modify all values to say either half, or 1 stamina each square?

launces arent coded yet (i am looking forward to swords myself, see my combat skills Wink ), so i dont know how to add that, but also a sword, even a bow should be functional on a horse. a bow in combat would be very helpful to some, to prevent fighting close combat with creatures i guess? Smile

- Horses will give a reduction on your stamina cost as long your are on plains and roads, you will not gain a benifit from horses while in forests & mountains will give you a penalty on your movement when you got a horse.
- Bows can be used in my fighting script aswel as magic Smile Cause we have distance Smile

Do i understand that the horse still has no effect?
Because i traveled to the mine and i still need 2 stamina on the road with the horse.

Horsies yay! Empty Effect

Post by Lord Arogandor Wed Dec 30, 2009 5:53 pm

I have updated the script for the world map.

Now horses do have a effect on the travel cost.
Each movement you have 50% chance that your movement cost has been reduced by one.

I hope to finetune this new effect in the future Smile But for now you will have to do it with this XD
