Re: The Hrabrost Expedition
- Spoiler:
- The Hrabrost ruins are located in the middle-south area of the map, shown by an old ruin picture. Funny, I thought Camaar simply changed its name from Hrabrost
Would it be possible to get the stamina cost removed from playing dice? I hope there will be a "fight the guard and loot the expedition" option later on

What a great quest, Aro.
Well done all around, a lot of fun and well thought out plot and rewards.
I wish I could do it again...

Re: The Hrabrost Expedition
- Spoiler:
- You are given the option of keeping the armor you find or giving it to the count.
Here is the reward for giving it to him:
The Count quicky takes the armor and stores it safely in his tent. When he returns he gives you a very small purse with 4 Silver and 83 Bronze.
After you managed to swallow your frustration, you leave that greedy bastard without a word...
Congratulations! You have completed the Hrabrost Expedition Quest successfully!
You have gained the following Reward:
+ 3 on your Charisma Skill
+ 10 Grail Tokens
+ 500 Reputation in the Grail Monastery
+ 4 Silver and 83 Bronze
It seems giving it to him is a bad choice. If anybody else keeps the armor, post what you receive.

Re: The Hrabrost Expedition
- Spoiler:
- Yea..... don't give away the armor on this quest. With so extremely few options to gain any equipment in this game, giving it up truly screws you.

Re: The Hrabrost Expedition
- Spoiler:
- I wouldn't be so sure about that Helfdane.... Time will tell...After all, keeping can be considered stealing...I wouldn't like to bump into the count while wearing the armor he is looking for all these years...
Re: The Hrabrost Expedition
- Spoiler:
- Well that would be awkward, but it is a quest reward; and its the ONLY item quest reward currently in the game. If there is some sort of chance we could lose our quest rewards there would have to be hundreds of quests with thousands of rewards...
It would be different if there were 10 gloves to choose from, but this is all there is and quite honestly, every person I spoken to who did not keep the gloves were incredibly disappointed with their end reward. It's not to say it isn't nice, but it is definitely not balanced.
Honestly I feel bad for anyone who doesn't keep the gloves. Anyone can get some charisma, which has no use in the game. And in greater honesty, the gloves aren't even that nice! I have noticed zero difference in my combat since obtaining them.
So I guess the rewards altogether are a little disappointing.
Aro, was it difficult to code a quest like this? Because if you can use it as a basic engine model for others I think we can get some ideas for more.
Re: The Hrabrost Expedition
The Hrabrost Quest is not really designed in some kind of model so I wouldn't win much time.
Re: The Hrabrost Expedition
@Capone:
Who says that all the other players got the same reward you had?
Who says you will be happy taking the current reward later on in the game?
Remember the Flemish proverb: 'He who doesn't appreciate accepting little things, he isn't worth receiving big things.'
Remember the Aro philosophy
Since when do we think this is a balanced, fair and perfect world? Hard choises will have to be made, and some consequences of those choises will be final, beyond any point of return, unless you start a new charachter.'
Over time, when all the hard programming is done, quest will be added more swiftly, and upcoming quests will sometimes have an effect in what you did in other quests, or did not do in this case
For the record: i'm not yet done with my quest, and I will have to make a choise to Do not know what I will do yet.

please spare me the proverb ****. it really is not fitting with logical discussion.
there were in basic, two rewards. one of the rewards is very disappointing, the other is mildly disappointing. everyone who has completed the quest knows exactly what i am talking about.
sorry, but thats just the basic and hard truth. everyone who i have spoken to was disappointed.
rewards are not supposed to be disappointing. otherwise, they are not called rewards, get it?
and honestly, the quest itself is good, but the rewards are not. the problem is that there are so few rewards in the actual game, that when you actually get a chance to choose one: it should be a difficult choice and one in which feels rewarding. even my reward is not that good really, the only reason it is any good at all is that its the only one of its kind in the game. +5%?? that is an equivalent of a '+1 magical item' in other games.
and that is the main problem.

Re: The Hrabrost Expedition
There you go... it's fair to say that people will find different stuff as reward.
- Spoiler:
And if you have the connections or the money, you may even put yourself a set of armor together.
I understand that if you choose the 'other' reward. You will probably be dissapointed...but let's remember that this is an RP-game. Are you dissappointed with Aro...or with the ingame charachter who gave you a crap reward? Maybe you should not make the connection reward = "ooc Aro" ... that character will probably return in other quests, and the options you choose now and then will have it's effects...Will it be a balanced effect? No I think not, because even in this fictional world...things do not seem fair and perfectly balanced, it's up to your character that you play to deal with such consequences. So people who got a crap reward from this charachter will remember it...and may take that into consideration when they meet that charachter again. On the other hand if that charachter meets you again and he see's you wearing that shiny piece of ancient armour... he may remember you from the Hrabrost ruins.
Personally I'm fed up with perfect balanced worlds or mmrpg's... where whatever you choose you can reach some sort of perfect endgoal. I like the fact that you can screw things up, lose money, miss out big rewards or make good decisions for the long run. Eg: I did not attack or kill the witch in that other quest, but I know others did... different choice, with different results and effects on the long run.

Make sure you check your quest log each day after you do it... I kept wasting 100 stamina for who knows long before I checked & completed it.
