What would it have to do with me? Nothing, if someone can do it, someone will do it eventually..
To me, the obvious solution to that exploit is to allow sales to refill the money pot up to the level the town has set. Any money above that goes straight to the town treasury, of course.
good idea

hmmm...
I'm sorry I don't totally catch it. Can a nice fellow please explain the latest idea again?

Re: New Economic Update!
The town council sets an amount of money to be used on the market (as now). I call it the money pot.
Sales to the town take money out of the money pot.
Purchases from the town put money into the money pot until it reaches the amount the town council has set.
When the money pot is full, money from purchases goes into the normal town treasury instead.
Something like this perhaps:
Town money pot set at 1 silver
X sells 5 wood to town at 20 bronze each
(Money pot now 0)
Y buys 2 wheat from town at 40 bronze each
(Money pot now 80 bronze)
C sells 4 milk to the town at 10 bronze each
(Money pot now 40 bronze)
N buys 4 wood from the town at 25 bronze each
(Money pot now 1 silver, Town treasury +40 bronze)
Etc

Re: New Economic Update!
That sounds like a good idea to me!
I will update the code, unless somebody has a good reason why we shouldn't do this?

Re: New Economic Update!
Sounds cool. and if people need money, point out that we don't have any animals bred except maybe a chicken, lol.

Re: New Economic Update!
I'm still not realy happy with this update.
I have a huge stock of food of which i saw all the prices go down with about 50% without going back up afterwards.
The system might be nice and more in balance than before, but seeing the value of your stock cut in half is a major setback in a game.
Was it actually meant to destroy or slow down people's richness and profits, cuz more or less the only way to get rich (in the beginning) is by gathering stuff and selling to town.
My 2 cents,
RK

Re: New Economic Update!
It never was or is the goal or purpose of this upgrade to slow down or destroy the wealth of the seekers.
The update was to make the market more active. Forcing townleaders to check their market more often. It also was ment to give Seekers the chance to sell any goods. This wasn't possible, if the max cap was reached, you simply didn't could sell something anymore, no matter the costs where.
We are still working on increasing the consumption of goods, and let the money roll between hands more faster.

Re: New Economic Update!
Now that this system is in for a bit, I fear this new update is not working out. It forces player to log in at reset and it has become a battle between a few big Traders to sell part of their goods for that day. The average person is simply screwed with this, disallowing them to sell anything as the Traders use up all the funds. This is a major obstacle for others. I present you the Market of Spero as proof, where the Purchase Funds are gone sometimes minutes after Reset.
Between Max Cap and this Purchase Fund, I think Max Cap is simply the less worse system of the two.
The Purchase Fund system does not provide Seekers this opportunity, with the exception of Iron Ore. If the Town doesn't want you to sell Flour, it simply puts its buying price at 1 Bronze, effectively disallowing people from selling their goods, just like the Max Cap.

Re: New Economic Update!
Well it seems the mayority things the same about this economy ^^
Unless somebody comes up with a genious plan, I'll set it back with the max prizes again.
This might take a while still before it is done due my time shedule.

Re: New Economic Update!
It's a pity it didn't work out as we wanted, but at least we gave it a go to see how it did

Re: New Economic Update!
Thank you all for the responds.
I think the conclusion is that the update wasn't a success.
