At the Town Ranch you can choose to have up to 3 ranch animals at a time. Chickens are one of them.
Others are | Chicken | Cow | Horse | Pig | Sheep |

Ranch animal - Chicken Chicken
The price is determined by Town Council

Food: No special feed required.
Lifetime: 30 days
Produce by Egghunt every 2 Days: 2 Eggs
Produces by Slaughtering: 3 poultry

You need: A butcher's knife to slaughter

Special:
1. Feeding & Egg hunting increases your chicken attitude.
2. Eating Egg improves Body building Skill, Poultry increases Agility Skill (Both should be Cooked/made to soup first !)
3. Egg hunting requires 10 Stamina. (less as Chicken attitude increases)
4. Slaughtering chicken costs 25 stamina (less as the Chicken attitude increases).
5. Slaughtering damages your knife with half of the stamina used for Slaughter, rounded up.
6. You can also hire someone else to Egg hunt or slaughter your chicken.

Good work.

The price is 110, I think, and yes, a butcher knife is required to slaughter. Slaughtering takes about 25 stamina and damages the knife as much.

Good work seekers Smile

You need a butchers knife for slaughter, no matter what animal you kill. I guess you can kill a chicken without a knife aswell, however you might still want to use the knife to cut of some things of the animal...

Your Chicken attitude affects the amount of stamina needed to do the job & the amount of eggs you find and also your skill gives that much procent chance of another egg. So if you got 25% chicken attitude, then you get 25% to find another egg.

I have 31.4% chicken attitude now. Egg hunts cost me 9 stamina and slaughtering is down to 23. I have found 2 eggs at a time often, but I've never cut more than 3 pieces of poultry from a bird.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I have updated the guide. I will have to test how much stam it really takes to search for eggs, unless our Great Lords feels helpful Wink

I'm looking for another word instead of "Special" which is sort of a description on how to care for the animals and what to think about - more detailed info. Anyone got a suggestion for a different word?

Hm.. maybe detail? as its detailed info on the animals.

anyways, I just went on some egghunts and it is indeed 10 stam per egghunt. I have edited that now, thanks for those who pointed it out. I wanted to try myself as I saw a higher number written elsewhere Smile

I'm wondering, has anyone got any other numbers on their chicken attitude than 0.01 on feeding their chickens or 0.1 on the egghunt?

Feeding your animal only gives you 0.01% extra. However if you don't feed your animal for serveral days, the penalty on your skill is bigger then 0.01 ^^

Ah.. ah I see. So the 0.01 gain on feeding will become less.. are there any other consequences of not feeding your animals? Like, uhm.. no eggs? scratch

Not feeding your animals will give decrease your skill. It also will kill your animals after a short period of time (about 5 days). And your pigs will loose their weigt.
No other effects happen.

That's for the moderator to decide I'd think. There's not many topics so the chances of them getting completely buried is small. Besides, someone could maybe make a directory.

As mod:

When an animal info sheet is ready, I will post it in a new 'closed & sticky' thread. I guess, chicken can be declared ready?

May I ask to use the same concept (macro, structure, etc.) to make the other animal info sheets.

Thanks Nogwa! I think chickens can be declared ready yes. Of course you can use the same structure, I think that would be easier for the eyes instead of having different structures on every info sheet Very Happy

- All animals can die from starvation (if you don't feed them for a couple of days).
- Animals can't die from old age before their maximum age is reached. So if you feed your chicken daily, it won't die before the life span of 30 days is reached.
