Re: Carnifex Crescent
I assume its the standard 4-8 of any battle axe, but as an (it seems one of the only) axe user, I would also be interested to know if its different.

Re: Carnifex Crescent
ahhhh!!! one handed AND better damage than a battle axe! This is game changing for me. I'd like to put out there now that if none of my grail reward rolls come out to this axe, I will probably pay everything I have for one.
Edit: Maybe not, gotta check some mechanics, but if the % boost from 2h fighting skill effects my bonus from strength as well as from weapon, then no... sufficiently less damage than the old cheap battle axe I've had since day 6. Bummer. Again, no love for the 2h crowd or axers. Make sad. I finally was first in a skill, but now someone will throw a grail crescent on and overtake me in axe fighting.

Re: Carnifex Crescent
How on earth can a battle axe be one-handed? It makes no sense! Have you EVER seen a carnifex chopping a head off with only one hand? No? I didn't think so!
And it's a waste for us who have invested in the 2-handed combat skill. That means everyone who's not right-out stupid will use only one-handed combat from now
Is this true? Can you confirm, Aro?

This, on the other hand, is very good news!
Maybe it should be posted on the Event page, so everyone will know? :-)

Not a fan of vikings?
One handed battle axes are very common, actually.
Re: Carnifex Crescent
Quick question:
Is there any point in going further than 70k damage? Doesn't seem to be any rewards past 70k, so I guess once you get the Halloween icon you should stop?

Re: Carnifex Crescent
I do agree that 2h gets the shaft. The only reason I am not a 2h user, is because no good weapons exist. I'm still waiting on a 2h mace weapon.

Re: Carnifex Crescent
Yea, typically 2h weapons have higher base damage and higher critical range/damage
Re: Carnifex Crescent
Thing is, it will still be higher damage to use my cheap battle axe over any 1h weapon, so I will continue to use 2h. 2h Battle axe should be higher damage than this one as long as you have higher than 4 strength, assuming you have invested in the 2h skill. I suppose I will just use my points to upgrade my town militia pieces to grail. Not very exciting, but cool nonetheless. Will be nice to get that +3con, +3 strength from the chest. The carnifex helmet is still quite good since aiming doesn't do anything yet.

Re: Carnifex Crescent
Auto: you are right about the 1-handed axe possibility, but a Carnifex's axe is bigger and heavier than the typical viking axe, or so I picture it My Main point was that it is now better to switch to 1h, if taking into account the excellent new shield available. But maybe the captain is right about the current axe being better for damage; have to run some calculations :-)

Re: Carnifex Crescent
It is strange that a 2 handed axe has less base damage than a 1 handed axe.
Also those pictures, the 2 hander looks like a dinky little hatchet and the 1 hander looks like a proper 2 handed axe lol.
Idk why it's done like this, but combats a bit messy. I'm not completely sure, but to me it seems like it's better to use a 1 handed weapon and duel wield in an event to get more damage, but a 2 handed weapon is better in normal combat for damage.
Now to go off topic about the other prizes available. Why, whyyyy are all the sets light armor? I think there's like 5 or 6 sets in the game that are light armor. I think there's MAYBE 1 medium armor set and then there's the 1 heavy armor set, the hrabrost one. I just don't get it Aro, I brought it to your attention before the new set was made, before the event was announced, you even agreed about it. All I wanted was a heavy armor helmet and pants, didn't even have to be very good, now I'm just filled with disappointment
To be fair though all armor is pretty useless for protection. With 50 skill in heavy armorer, I get alllllmost 1.2 protection from my chest piece, which I believe is among the most protecting armor in the game (6). If it wasn't for bonuses to skills I'd probably be better off not wearing any armor since heavy armor slows me down so much.
Is that what you want Aro? Naked armorless men running around?

Re: Carnifex Crescent
There are no additional rewards given when you have more then 70k damage. Only a special Profile Icon.
