[ORP}Araxias Quest-To dream the Impossible Dream

Post by Araxia on Wed Apr 06, 2016 11:51 pm

Araxia had been very pleased with her survival of the winter!!! She had managed to turn her little humble home into a warm shelter, that kept her safe for all of the most harsh of seasons!! Now, as winter faded, her own excitement grew further as Spring was literally just around the corner and all of its blessings too!!!

Those long winter nights, had served great for one thing, and that was thinking and planning and getting even stronger and wiser and a bit more comfortable on her own two feet....

The stars were her favorite. Araxia loved looking up at the stars. Certainly when the nights were lonely and long and the sounds of the town and night made her very nervous! But she would never admit that she was nervous.  Not that she had anyone to admit it too.  The stars reminded her of her mother and father, and of course the Gods and Goddesses that her parents danced with above.

Araxia had very little coins left, and that made her heart beat faster.  She worked hard, so hard her hands were not beautiful and soft as a womans hands should be. But cracked and dirt was under her nails.  She had long blonde beautiful hair, but instead of letting it dance softly of her shoulders, it was usually put up in a ribbon and out of the way.    Araxia did not mind working hard, she did not mind earning her sleep every night, but she did wish at times there was a bit easier of a way.

That is where her dream began. Her dream to find the greatest of Grail treasures there could ever be found. She would hold onto a dream for as long as the days turned into weeks, the weeks into months and those months years.

As it did every morning without fail, the sun rose to welcome a new day.  Araxia too, woke this morning and as her eyes opened to adjust to the gentle golden of sun she stretched long and fully.  This was one of the best moments of any given day.  The silence and the crisp of a brand new start.  No matter what had happened the day before, today arrived with chance to grow, learn, and expand!!!!

Araxia dressed, smiled and cursed all at once inside as her simple dress had one too many holes in it.   Araxia was not so worldly on sewing and fixing things, she was more of a gardener, a wanderer, a dreamer and had a really great desire to learn to cook the best soups, stews and foods around!!

Since it was just fresh into the Spring Season, she knew today would be a good day to begin work on her garden.  Her fields were well and stable, but she needed to have her own source of food for the long days ahead.

Thankfully she had some seeds, and those would turn into seedlings, and seedlings into plants and oh would she dance a dance of beautiful Goddesses if she could find a full harvest this year!!

Araxia had a soft tune keeping her company. It was an old tune, of of memory and nostalgic comforts.  The sun was not nearly as warm as it could be, but considering it was still freshly spring, the glow of the sun and her work on her garden made her feel the heat!

The dirt was mostly turned, and the fresh look it brought to the front of her little humble home made her smile.  It always felt good to work hard, to find happiness and joys in the smallest of things.

Life was too hard to not pause and smile often.  The days the smiles seemed hardest to bring were the days that reminded her what to be thankful for.   Not everyone was as blessed as she was.  Not everyone had a home, food they could grow and harvest and eat, and not everyone had their health and passion to enjoy life as she tried.

Araxia finished her gardening, and decided today would be a good day to go walk to the water well, and bring some fresh water for a bath.  It would be a very good feeling to get the dirt off of her.  It just always was so much work to go bring the buckets of water home.  Almost more exhausting than the worth!!!

Once summer came, she would be able to bathe in the lake!! Oh Araxia there you go again, dreaming about summer! She scolded herself with a grin.

Araxia had made the mistake--at least she thought it was the mistake, to go to the tavern this day.  The darkness, and the noise was not a place she normally enjoyed for long, but fate, like everything else served a purpose that was beyond her control.

There was something about today that had her mind preoccupied.  Not with the things that were to be done for spring, now that the sun and the world were coming to life again.  But an accent from a gentleman and the taste of tea, she had had many times before but not so much with the company she had.  His accent, as was the depth of darkness on his skin had caught her attention and curiosity.

He had spoken of things she had only read about, spoken of sadness at the loss of his ship, and it made her remember her loss, though not as greatly affecting as his, here in a new land away from home.

At the end of the day she had home.  She had a house, she had a roof to keep her safe.  She did not have much to her name, but she had food, and warmth and shelter.  The rest would be determined by her.

Today she came home with much on her mind, and it would stay that way until the sun set and the moon rose.  Beyond the stars is where her mind fluttered and she hummed softly as the evening took over the day and the day began to close...

The sun was hot today.  The wind was cool, but the sun made her feel like she was going to simply vanish into a powdered dust!!! Her mouth was dry, and she was tired.   Her flesh was kissed with a hint of redness and she hated that!  So jealous she was of some women and of course some men, who could get teased by the caress of the sun and turn a beautiful golden shade.  Not Araxia though, she got lighter blonde hair, and rosey red cheeks.  She would look like a lobster and she would curse the affects of the sun all throughout the summer season!!

She stood not fully aware that she had smeared some dirt across her face in an upward sweep.  Thankfully there was no one around to chuckle at her, or even politely tell her about it.  There was a bit of a contented sigh though that left her as she finished the long garden.

It would be her herb garden, where she would collect and grow all sorts of different goodies. All sorts of wonderful flowers, and pieces and leaves.  It would be a garden that she gave much attention too, and one that when others would walk by one that they too would give attention too.

It didn't look like much now... but she could see how beautiful it was to become.... and that was exciting as it was inspiring to her!!

Araxia must have bumped her head!

That would explain everything.  Some very unfortunate situations, lead to other situations, which lead to her behavior of very unpredictable and very bad decisions.

Araxia really needed a hobby; Or perhaps Araxia really needed a good friend. Perhaps Araxia really just needed a good old fashioned spanking that left memory and impact (not to mention imprint) on her!!

This morning she woke up, thinking about the words she had heard at the tavern the night before.  The rumors and the whispers about the missing Alchemist had given her nightmares and restless sleep.

Very much unlike the quiet, keep to herself girl, she decided she could be brave (or stupid) and go on an adventure to see if there was truth in these rumors.  Her naive and innocent mindset did not giver her any warnings of the dangers that could be lurking past the gates of town, save the little voice reminding her to grab her staff for protection case any little critters came too close.

So with hope and curiosity in her blood, Araxia set foot on what would surely be an overnight adventure.  She had no one to tell she was leaving, and should anything happen, she was sure no one would miss her.   Well maybe her garden .... but that would survive a night or two without her tender love and care....

The smell of cooked meat was tempting.  The sound of the sweet sizzle brought reward to Araxia as she mended the wound the damn little bunny had managed to give her before she brought her spear across his head for the deadly blow.  Thankfully Araxia traveled alone, so no one saw her get sick and throw up at the sound of the crackling of her spear against the splintering shatter of the rabbits skull.   After a few moments of calming herself down some, a few tears and curses later Araxia managed to pull off what she had only been taught to do a few times before.  De-skin, and prepare the rabbit for a meal.

Araxia set up her camp for the night, her feet were sore, her body was the same, and she had blisters on both feet.  Not at all sure she should not just head home, go to see the doctor about losing her mind, as this was far from the pampering and soft silks and bedsheets she dreamed about laying in one day.

Life had a funny way of not working out in ways one dreamed, yet as long as one kept moving forward, or at least treading water if one was drowning, one could easily survive the torture of another day.

Whatever reason she had thought to have chance to find the alchemist, to have adventure, to be able to be some unsuspecting seeker of some unknown adventure.....

Araxia took the now cooked meat from the fire, and let it sit too cool a bit.  She build the flames up for the nights were still incredibly cook for the season.  She relaxed a bit and did her best to ignore the throbbing of her swollen and angry flesh where the rabbit bit her.

"Perhaps you should have at least told someone you were being incredibly stupid.." she said aloud, and set to enjoy her meal.  Savoring the first rip of the flesh of the bunny that had done the same to her!

Many many months and moons and moments have gone by. Many things have happened.....

Araxia woke this morning with usual routine and sweet stretch.  She often slept as naked at the day she was born, but these cold winter months and lack of coins or crown made her but a sweet peasant that could only do so much to keep warm.  Though she was thankful for the warmth her fur trimmed mantle she was given as gift kept her warm for the cold nights, she much dreamed about the beauty of a luxurious bed and feathers and perhaps a Lord or even two to cuddle into!!!

It was that thought, that had our lazy woman back to sleep with a smile upon her face and a grin deep within.... Sometimes it was a good thing to have no true need to get up and face the day...

Bed was such a wonderful place...

The snow outside was dreadful and the work ahead was spiteful but Araxia got up and moaned, "I hate the snow I hate the snow I hate the snow!" she grunted looking out the window.  The creaks and groans of the thatched roof above her always made her extra curious on her safety in her home.  She often felt jealousy for the stones and the beauty of the Lords and Castles they often called homes.

Simple every day chores, such as fresh water, and even getting the wood for her fireplace seemed extra annoying on snowy days.  She frowned as she dressed and stomped around her place like a spoiled child.  Araxia was always easily jealous as she found her heart dreaming of a life that made her feel as privileged and easy as princesses and Duchesses.  She felt she worked hard, and often felt that it got her no where but "just by".

Seeing the gloomy grey skies with the snowy weather made her grumpy.  She put on her shoes, since she could not afford boots, and she shoved against the front door, which seemed blocked somewhat by a drift of snow.  Making her temper flare and her words fly!

Finally she got the door open, huffed a great smoke of warm air from her lungs and made the cold trek to her wood pile.  Which of course was quickly depleting.  She looked down the road towards town.  The warmth of ale was tempting, but her feet would never survive the trip to town.

Araxia had been given many things in her life, but none so much as sweet as the last week had seen.  She was touched, and it lifted her spirits in a time where they were struggling to stay joyful.  This very morning, she spent a little longer brushing her golden locks, and added a little bit of curl to them, so they fell ever so softly over her shoulders.  Araxia spent the morning cleaning her very old worn shoes, and making them appear as new as she could.  Her mantle was taken outside and given a good beat down so that it too was clean.

She might not be covered in rich furs and golds and jewels, but her smile made her appear far richer than most could dream.   She wished she could go thank the one responsible for that personally, but Araxia knew not even where to begin to do so.  Besides, perhaps once she got to where she would have gone to see him, he would have looked beyond her and not had a moment further to spend with her.  So for now, the young girl accepted the gift of recent moments and treasured them for all that she could.

This day she would go and find a small piece of turkey and purchase it.  She wanted to enjoy the day fully and the treat of fresh meat would suit her belly and her spirits just well.  She did not have many coins, but she had managed to sell some of her eggs, so that helped her purse just enough to be spoiled.

She indeed felt a noble queen walking towards the towns market today.  Nothing would bring her down!!

Re: [ORP}Araxias Quest-To dream the Impossible Dream

Post by Araxia on Tue Dec 20, 2016 10:52 am

December had begun to warm her heart!! Which was very much needed as her wood pile was very low, and she had to use the chopped pieces sparingly.  It meant for very cold nights and cold toes!!!  This morning after she broke her fast, Araxia had made the choice to go into town, if for nothing more than to take advantage of the shops and their warm.  She began her trek, battling the sharp winter winds when she heard her name being called out.  Turning around, she lowered the hood of her wrap just enough to see the delivery lad running holding a package!!

Araxia accepted it, and gave the young lad a small coin, which was really not much but she did not have as much as her generosity wishes she could divulge.  She thanked him and went back home a moment and opened the gift!! Like most people she truly enjoyed surprises, so this moment was no different.  Her fingertips were cold but that did not stop her from ripping the brown parchment and she smiled seeing the seal of the recipient.

Inside, was the most beautiful shell--- a gift for her.  A small token but it made her light up like she was the angle upon the tallest, biggest, most impressive of all trees---

She just knew the perfect spot to put it up, and she did so right away.  Before leaving for town once again, she took a moment to send a thank you to the wonderful soul that had spoiled her just days before her favourite holiday!!! Santa Claus was indeed alive in some peoples hearts, and she sure wish she could afford to return the favor.

Letter in hand, she made her way back into town, wondering not so much on her problem of lack of wood for the warmth for winter, but more on the complement upon the gift.  It made her feel wonderful and that alone was the greatest of gifts.

Re: [ORP}Araxias Quest-To dream the Impossible Dream

Post by Araxia on Mon Jan 09, 2017 10:51 am

Araxia had found a small solution for the lack of wood for her winter warmth.  But that solution had cost her, and sadly unlike many Grail Lords and Ladys, she did not have a good grasp on coins or savings or any of such!!  The gentleman at the goods market must have been able to read her desperation and concern, for he seemed to charge an absurd amount for wood.  Araxia had been trying to save to build a new ranch in the spring, but that dream was as far gone as the woodpile she thought would be sufficient for the winter.

Of course the man charged her for delivery as well, she did not even have a cart!  If her temper could have warmed her small home then it surely would have heated her well into the next cold weather that came across the land!!!  She handed over the nearly 30 silver for all of the wood, the delivery and the rip off scam, but she knew she couldn't exactly use the coins if she was found frozen to death!!!

Such thoughts fueled her home, and as she walked by the tavern she gave it a longful stare, before looking into her coin purse.  Of course she couldn't even afford an ale today! She cursed, very unladylike below her breath and she stomped all the way home.  Araxia knew she could go into the tavern, and it would not be too long before some drunkard, or some Grail Lord high on himself, or some lonely fellow who smelled of last years dirt and goodness knows what other disgusting flavors would offer her a drink, but the price would be too high. Araxia was not one for small talk, she was rather quiet until you got to know her, and when she let you in you knew you had a loyal friend by your side.

Life was not easy these days, but she continued forward dreaming that one day, perhaps years from now she would have a life a little easier, where she could balance her coins, and get a drink as well as help some struggling soul that wore her very shoes she did now....

Re: [ORP}Araxias Quest-To dream the Impossible Dream

Post by Araxia on Fri Jan 13, 2017 2:36 pm

The days after the dreaded market crash, or so Araxia mumbles as it seem to have crashed not only her dreams but her savings and spirit odd things happened.  First she became very determined never to let another take advantage of her so, and second a very mysterious and generous gift appeared on her porch.  A small brown purse with a unrecognizable scribble upon a note was at her feet.  When Araxia had bent down to retrieve it, she read the words:

With hopes that this will keep you warm during the winter....

For the quickest of moments Araxia looked up, as if she expected to see the person whom which left such a generous gift.  She had not even looked inside, but just the mere thought that someone had given her a small helpful gesture...

There was no one around. Not a soul. Not even footprints to help her try to figure out her mysterious gifter.  There would be no solving this "who-done-it", but Araxia could solve one piece of the puzzle... the what...

Closing the door she placed the small purse onto her table and heard the jingle of coins.  First she poured herself a tea, then she took a seat at the kitchen table.  The table, she placed right under the window, so she could enjoy the morning view of the seasons and land around her.  She did not see birds this day, it was far too cold for that.  Araxia did hear a gentle howl of a young fox the night before, and she had forgotten to go see if the breads she left him outside were gone.   Breads she had soaked in her veggie stock from dinner.

For a few minutes more she idly looked at the purse, her mind wandering to the who would do such a thing for her thoughts, and how could she return the favor of a thank you.... When she finally did look inside there was not one, but three silver and some bronze inside.  The coins would see her fed for a fortnight and she could put some back into her savings.

As she looked outside upwards to the beautiful blue sky she felt light and happy.  It was truly an amazing feeling, a wonderful gift to bring someone an unexpected smile, or in this case not just a smile but relief from a trouble.  Araxia truly hoped the year would be good for this wonderful samaritan that took her by surprise!!!

Re: [ORP}Araxias Quest-To dream the Impossible Dream

Post by Araxia on Tue Jan 17, 2017 11:14 am

It was a brand new day! Araxia had felt amazing all the entire day before, and the magic of the kind gesture seemed to keep her spirits high this day too! She woke happy, and even took time before chores to do some writing of letters and reading!! The new candles she had bought at the market had a wonderful scent to them.  For a moment Araxia seem to trail off into a day dream of far many years ago in childhood reminiscing....

The sound of the wind and the laughter of the children filled the air with a light happy feeling. She could see her mother and her Aunt sipping tea while she and her cousin played in the wildflowers.  It was picture perfect. It was a moment everyone took for granted.  A moment before life changed, and the sipping tea moments were forgotten.  Araxia and her cousin took some flowers and braided them into each others hair.  They were playing princesses, and they were searching for their prince! Of course he was charming, sweet and very very rich! Araxia was the oldest cousin, which suited her personality well. She loved to take care of things and people including her sweet cousin who was only a few months younger than she!

After a moment Araxia woke from the day dream and smiled.  Perhaps that was the beginning of her passion for gardens and flowers and herbs and such things.  She took a long sip of her tea and enjoyed the warmth as it filled her.  Today was not such a day for gardens and daydreams.  It was grey and winters kiss was upon the land.  Quiet and still were the trees and all green life seemed like it was long gone and never to return...

Araxia finished her small breakfast, thankful that it satisfied her tummy and took her letters with her to town.  She would send them and perhaps if lucky she would this day find a moment for the tavern and a delicious sip of wine!

Re: [ORP}Araxias Quest-To dream the Impossible Dream

Post by Araxia on Thu Jan 19, 2017 11:15 am

Araxia had fallen asleep at the kitchen table the night before! Of course, that was not a problem when one lived alone, but it sure as heck did nothing for the back and neck the next morning.  Slowly she stood, her arms reaching high above and she gave a very drawn out yawn as she stretched fully and shook herself gently awake. Her hands moved to the softness of her neck where she rubbed it gently.  The kink would just have to work itself out, and she laughed a little as she imagined a lovers hands, big warm and teasingly doing the wonderful blessing of a massage.  "wake up you silly filly!" she scolded herself blushing a bit, at not only the thought but the fact it wasn't just any lovers hand she imagined....

Slowly as she woke, energy came into her and day dreams left...  Another day awaited of hard labour and winter chill.  First things first her two young chickens needed to be fed. Araxia had been planning on expanding to be able to have another animal. Perhaps even her first cattle, but something was tugging at her heart and she could not explain it.

There was something inside of her, a whisper of warning or intuition.  Something that made her pause her plans that had all but seemed the right way to go.  Perhaps Camaar wasn't to be her town.  Perhaps the little voice of adventure deep within her to begin a new journey in a new town...

Araxia was not one for change.  Often change brought challenge.  Though challenge was good for growth, challenge was also good for fears.

As she fed her chickens, she was off in her own world again, wondering, thinking....

It was only the sound of wheels and horses and a carriage of great beauty that had her turning her head and shaking off her thoughts.   It wasn't everyday a Royal carriage with several men came rolling down her street....

Araxia was even more surprised when it stopped at the front of the gate to her house...

"What the..." she whispered and then looked down at yesterdays clothes and simply wanted to be swallowed up by the ground.

Re: [ORP}Araxias Quest-To dream the Impossible Dream

Post by Araxia on Wed Feb 15, 2017 11:06 am

Araxia had spent most of the month that passed in confusion.  Her worst enemy at times was her own mind, as she often over thought, over processed, and if she was to be brutally honest, she often held hope in a place hope never should exist.  For a little while she allowed the dream that a Lord noticed her. Simple, plain and far from noble.  Well at least in titles.  Her imperial qualities were of the heart.  There she was highborn.  She knew this, but often forgot this.  Araxia had been so excited when this certain Lord had asked her for some help! He had seen something in her that made him reach out further to her and it had beyond excited her!!

Foolishly Araxia had spent hours into the evening, doing her very best. Writing, brainstorming, encouraging.  All of this of course had been her pouring her heart into it, and when she sent the requested help she sealed it with a kiss and paid extra coin to ensure the safe and speedy arrival of the letter and its contents.

Hours drifted into days, days into a week, a week into a fortnight.  Not a word, not a thank you, not a simple gesture of hello had been heard from him.  Araxia felt crushed inside.  Of course the feelings were not justified of him, oh no he did not deserve to have the honour of those emotions from her.  She was mad, disappointed at herself for being a foolish girl and a silly swan to believe that a man such as he would have been caught with a flutter as she had allowed herself to feel.

The realization that her heart was too bold, too easily seen by those who looked upon her sleeve made her step back and think.

The Gods above had been asked to help her remember that love stories do not happen like fairy tales and wives tales.  Love stories were fantasy and she needed to get her heads out of the clouds.

It had been a close call, but she was awake now, winter was not the time for warmth and dreams, it was a time of cold and bitterness.

Ah... but she dreamed of Spring and all the beauty that it brought.  "Silly girl, wake up and stop dreaming so! Chores to be done, focus to be had, and goals to be accomplished." and so sweet Araxia lifted the heavy logs into her wheel barrel.  More wood was needed to keep her and her home warm.  This winter seemed to be extra cold.

Re: [ORP}Araxias Quest-To dream the Impossible Dream

Post by Araxia on Wed Feb 22, 2017 11:20 am

It was not yet spring, but inside her small home Araxia could be heard singing softly, her voice no where near angelic, but thankfully it was nothing that was torturous either.  She never would make it as an entertainer but she almost danced around her house this morning! The weather was caught in the middle of being beautiful and sunshine to grey and cold.  But much to Araxias pleasure the golden warmth of the sun bounded into her kitchen and made her feel wonderful.

There were yet to be birds chirping, and there was very little noise outside, but inside her kitchen she made a racket! Araxia was covered in flour perhaps a bit more on her than in the bowl!! She woke from her sleep in a rather great mood and her dreams had been vivid and sweet.   She had dreamed about being at a ball.  A masquerade, where no one could place anyone else. The mask she wore was beautiful, covered in gems and feathers and lace.  It had been a gift delivered to her door.  A note attached, 'at least I will know you, because I need to have you in my arms xo' she did not recognize the writing, nor did she have any admirers that she was aware of.  Yet Araxia, had the perfect gown, that would match the beautiful mask.  Mystery, excitement, adventure and of course the simplest chance to smile and bring another smile was all that it took to have her convinced she would go.  The dream continued, the ball was as fairy tale as they come.  Great and beautiful men and women, lots of food, the excitement in the air!!  Suddenly behind her was a mans voice.  "You will not be permitted to leave my side this night." as he pulled her close to him.  She studied his eyes, and felt the familiarity of them but could not place them.  The night grew later, and the dream faded in and out of recognition.  They danced and they danced until Araxia felt her feet were on fire!!! Then and only then did she seek to leave the mysterious mans company.  He allowed it, but placed a kiss upon her lips... a soft sweet kiss with longing and promise and intrigue... he tasted wonderful. His scent was so masculine and she had always dreamed a kiss would be so...

Thats when she woke up.  She sat up in bed, even finding her breath a little off the normal rhythm...  It was a wonderful way to wake up, and the wonderful fascinating affect of the dream continued as she started her day. Which lead to her joyful mood, and current state of mess with flour in her hair, on the floor and on her simple skirt and shirt.

Soon the smell of her baking would dance through the window and into the air... much like her dream it would swirl and make its own magical destination without a care in the world.

Today would be a great day.

Re: [ORP}Araxias Quest-To dream the Impossible Dream

Post by Araxia on Thu Mar 02, 2017 7:54 am

Araxia was still very much feeling the love of the Valentine month.  It had been enjoyable and it had been a great way to lift her spirits up! Winter was always a tough season to get through. Cold, grey, and often rough.  She had been blessed with friends to have helped her with the wood, so she had warmth.  Warmth was a great gift and she had kept the beautiful gratitude with her every time she put a log on the fire.  Araxia was a quiet one, but her heart often sang songs and she always took time to remember there was so much to be thankful for, and things could indeed always get worse.

There had been a new friendship to her.  One that meant much in her heart.  It was silly how throughout life people come and people go. Some are there for self service, others are there to teach and help you grow, and then once in a while, once in every great chance there was someone who came along and unexpectedly brought a needed glow to you.

As Araxia went about her daily chores, she found herself humming.  She studied the sweet shell that still hung on her wall as she passed, and she found herself fiddling around with the roses she had dried from her garden just a year ago.  They certainly did not bring the beauty of fresh cut clippings into her home, but they did bring charm.  Her charm.

"I wonder what spring will bring...." she said aloud and tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear.  Araxia knew that spring and the days ahead would be days for growth and new beginnings for animals, plants and yes even her alike.  Including the choice that was in her mind often lately.  Did she leave her home here and begin in a new town... or did she stay here and see what the Gods and life had in store....

Re: [ORP}Araxias Quest-To dream the Impossible Dream

Araxia had awoken several times during the night. She was sore, she was miserable and she was angry and upset.  Sadly for her it even hurt to cry.  There was a large scratch that she quietly prayed would not leave a scar.  That is what hurt her heart the most.  What would happen if she had become a woman with a huge scar on her face that would turn ugly and disfigure?? More tears came and she simply let them fall. Mentally she was strong but physically she was beat up.

Araxia laid there for sometime, before getting up and putting more ointment on it.  The sweet woman at the hospital where she went to ask for some help had given her a mix of herbs and oil for her skin.   A huge part of Araxia wanted to stay at the hospital because it had people. Home was quiet and home was alone, and right now she felt vulnerable and raw.

Now was the time more than ever, Araxia had wished she had someone to come home too. But of course had that been the case, she never would have left on her adventure.  Never would have taken a chance to grow not only as a woman, but as an explorer too!

Araxia had been well enough to thankfully stop at the market on the way home. She had gotten a few looks from people, but no one questioned her on her cuts, and swellings.  Why were people okay with giving odd looks but never once asking "are you ok?"   Perhaps she was wrong for always being the one to not even think but ask such if someone appeared in distress.  Either way she had gotten a few days worth of supplies and even ordered bread so she could go back to the destination she had as goal.

This time she would be ready.  This time she would not be so naive.  This time that bear and that thug would think twice before messing with Lady Tamsin!  Araxia lifted her arm in the air as if she was raising her sword to the Gods before cursing quickly as the muscles protested.

With a slight chuckle and better spirit than she had woken with, she went to tend to her chickens and daily chores....
