Halloween - The Roots of Evil
This year we decided to try something completely new for Halloween!
Both towns got infested by the Roots of Evil who slowly spread through the streets of the Town, corrupting the souls of all people! To prevent this from happening you, together with your fellow citizens, must do as much damage you can on the Roots!
All damage done by the citizens counts toward the towns total. At the end, the town who managed to do the most damage on the Roots will receive a special reward for their citizens! The Seekers who did the most damage will receive something special at the end of the Event.
Attack and discover more then 50 different rewards hidden between the Roots of Evil!
Feel free to leave a comment, join the discussion or add suggestion!
We truly hope you will like this new challenge!

I like it to, is protection not accounted for while fighting the roots?

Protection does count. I had it half my damage during a couple attacks.
Very cool event.

Re: Halloween - The Roots of Evil
- Added the towns total damage done.
- Added rank numbers and some color in the leader board.
When the event ends, the total damage of the towns will be multiplied with the Grail Blessing of the town. And that number will represent the end score.
This has no effect on the damage done by Seekers.
We also wanted to inform you that this event will last until 2nd of November.

Okay so I gotta ask when you say its multiplied by the blessing, you mean the actual value right? Say one town has 1% and another town has 10% blessing. You would multiply by .01 and .1 right? Not by 1 and 10?

Re: Halloween - The Roots of Evil
How the heck has someone already done nearly 7000 damage? 1 attack costs 10 stamina, and my attacks are generally doing 35-45 damage, it'd take me like 1500+ stamina to get to 7000... <_<
Not to mention at every attack I get 5-10 points of dmg on myself.
This quickly lost the taste of a team game, when it takes the contributions of several dozens of "regular" players to match the contribution of one really, really dedicated player.

Re: Halloween - The Roots of Evil
Its a competition related to combat, of course the stronger players are going to do much more damage. Each town has its hard hitters, you could always try helping them succeed more... making health potions for them I'm sure would be greatly appreciated.
I usually hit around 80-100 but I take the same amount of damage too... I'm still not convinced protection has an affect.
Apoclypze made a name for himself by being the standalone highest level player, which does take a lot of time, patience, and ingenuity. It'd be unfortunate if he didn't do 10x the damage someone with 10x less combat exp did.

I'm hitting around 40-50. I think stats are being taken into account a lot.
Protection does work. I have had all my damage blocked from it several times now.

Re: Halloween - The Roots of Evil
I'm curious, what's his combat level? I'm level 5, and I could in theory, if I used potions to keep myself healthy, do max 1500 dmg in 2 days. I'll be disappointed if his combat level isn't at least 4-5 times mine.
As for health potions, I'm working on it, but they're slow to make. If I dedicaded all my daily stamina on a Master level potion, I could on most days complete one. However, I have two fields that need tending to, and this event is making the labour shortage even worse than usual.
Also, what is this "protection" you keep talking about?

Re: Halloween - The Roots of Evil
Its 19... so I guess almost 4 times? But it should also be looked at in terms of exp. It doesn't show total exp like it used to, but for me to go from lvl 15 to 16 it would cost something over 12000 exp... take into account that you get less exp from a monster each time you level... adds up to a ton of town guards you need to kill.
Protection is basicly your armor's bonus.

Re: Halloween - The Roots of Evil
Armour is mighty hard to get in this game, it seems. I've never ever found any protective armour on our market, just stuff like boots and cloaks. I did get a fur skirt from somewhere, I think it was a monster drop or a quest reward...

Physical Resistance. Its a personal skill that can be increased by drinking milk.
I'm the second highest combat level in this match and I am rank 8. I think strength, agility, and speed are bigger factors here than combat level.

It gets multiplied with 1.01 and 1.1. Not 1 and 10.
The protection of items does not count toward the Roots. Your Physical Resistance Skill has a chance to lower the damage you gained with 5 points with a minimum of 1.
Like Axel mentioned already, Apoclypse is simply the best warrior we have at the moment and he did not became such a warrior by doing nothing all day but by eating a lot of meat and drinking milk all day long.
This is a team event, the town with the highest total damage will receive a reward that gives a benefit to all citizens of that town.
Re: Halloween - The Roots of Evil
Well, we're 2 days in, and the winning town is already pretty much decided. <_<
How do you gain speed, BTW? The skill description doesn't explain it.

Re: Halloween - The Roots of Evil
well, i couldnt log in yesterday and today i had to travel back home to spero, so my 2500 damage was done in a single day, which leads me to believe that Apoc is dedicating all his energy to the roots.
also keep in mind people can use stamina potions and stuff as well to keep going.

Thank god lol I was worried for a moment...

If you eat a second meal a day and you do not successfully eat it, you gain a little speed skill, you can keep doing it too until you successfully eat the meal. Its not as good as it sounds, usually you'll eat the meal in the first or second attempt... and the speed bonus is .001 I believe, so you lose half the exp of the meal, good to do with cheap eggs, I guess.
As for me, the vast majority of my speed skill comes from one christmas when I got +6 speed... I also have a bonus for speed from the boots I received from completing the Hrabrost Expedition quest.

Re: Halloween - The Roots of Evil
Yeah, I'm just in town for the event then will be heading right back out to kill again. Getting closer to 200 dead guards and not to far off from 1K Worgs
Seeing as I have been out of town for about 2-3 weeks to get level 20, it will probably take 2 months for level 21.
Everyone have fun and see what cool stuff we can get. Also if someone finds pants or a belt, send me a price I may purchase them so im not half naked anymore.

How does the "killing town guards" bug works? Because it doesn't look very nice...
