Reset Failures Empty Reset Failures

Post by Helfdane Mon Apr 28, 2014 12:51 am

Is there any way, when you fix the reset failures, that we can not take hits for not eating/feeding animals?

Especially in the ranch, losing a day of feeding is a BIG deal. Basically, I will not be able to search for eggs with my 1 chicken, and I will lose THREE milkings from my 3 cows, because their maximum safe age will now be reached 1 day before my last search/milking.

Not to mention I lose .05 animal attitude for EACH animal, which is quite a lot, actually. More than you could ever gain back in a day, for sure.

It's rather frustrating. The stamina potion is nice for the day of work that was lost, but I feel the issue of yourself and your animals not getting attention is worse than losing the stamina.

Reset Failures Empty Re: Reset Failures

I do understand your frustration Helfdane but there is not much at all I can do about it.
Here is what usually happens with such a reset failure:

Due some reason there is no reset, or even 2 resets at the same time. If there is no reset, I always can do the reset manually, but that requires me being online. Which sadly not always is possible for me.

If there was a double reset or a reset with serious issues then there is no way for me to fix the damage done. The only thing I can do is completely undo the reset. The so called set-back. I take a backup from the database before the reset happened and install that one as the actual game.

The time between the backup and the installation of that backup is completely lost! If you (or other players) did something during that time, it never actually happened in the game. This time can vary from 1 minute to several hours. Depending when I can come online. Obviously I try to make that time as short as I can.

In your particular case, you didn't feed your animals during the day, planning to do it before reset. You actually did feed your animals, but after the latest back-up is made. When I install the back up, your animals are hungry still. And after the manual reset (with the back-up database installed) happens, your animals sadly starve.

We soon will redesign the reset, so that it become more secure and hopefully such nasty events will happen no more!

Looks like it has struck again. Hopefully I can check back before the next normal reset.

You should Helfdane because I only set back the game when it really is messed up and un-fair for all. This time there was no reset at all and I was back in time to remove the automatic script. So there can't be a reset anymore that messes things up.

Today is just a resetless day, meaning nothing actually happened today in TGL :/
